Who is a Good Candidate for PRP Therapy?
Because PRP is derived from your own blood, it is a great option for most patients. Dr. Ayala may recommend PRP therapy to complement your medical spa treatments when appropriate.
What is the Procedure for PRP Therapy?
PRP therapy is secondary to your primary treatment. A small amount of your blood is drawn and processed to separate the PRP from other blood components. The PRP is loaded into a syringe and injected into the treatment area. The introduction of PRP into the skin is clinically proven to stimulate the development of new skin cells to help with skin damage that may cause wrinkles and other concerns.
What is Recovery Like After PRP Therapy?
PRP therapy requires no specific downtime or recovery. It may reduce the downtime and recovery from the primary treatment compared to the same treatment without PRP therapy.
PRP Therapy for Hair Loss
Although there's no definitive research confirming PRP therapy is effective for hair loss, many patients experience positive results when PRP is injected into areas of the scalp that have lost hair. Treatment typically includes scalp injections every 4 to 6 weeks, followed by maintenance treatments every 4 to 6 months afterward. Results from PRP therapy for hair loss can include new growth and the restoration of hair to areas of the scalp where treatment is completed.
How Much Does PRP Therapy Cost?
The cost of PRP therapy is in addition to the cost of your primary treatment. After your consultation, we discuss the cost and explain our
financing options. Before the appointment, you may want to learn about Prosper® and CareCredit®, two healthcare lending companies that we work with to offer our patients with affordable monthly payments for their treatments and services at Ayala ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery.
