Fat Transfer in McAllen, TX
What is Fat Transfer?
You may have imagined the day when you could take a little extra fat from one part of your body and place it in areas where you needed a little more fullness. This is exactly what you can do today thanks to our fat transfer treatments. Fat transfer can be performed on the face and body.
What Are the Benefits of Fat Transfer?
- No downtime
- Uses your fat versus dermal fillers and implants
- Precision control over the amount of volume added
Who is a Good Candidate for Fat Transfer?
Because our fat grafting treatment use your own fat, it is considered safe for most patients. Two considerations for fat transfer treatments are:
- Adequate fat stores in the donor area
- Amount of fullness needed in the treatment area
Removing the fat from the donor area does not make a significant difference in how the area looks, so this is not a body sculpting procedure.
What is the Procedure for Fat Transfer?
The donor fat is harvested with a cannula that is inserted through a very small incision. The fat is then purified and loaded into a syringe. Dr. Ayala implants the fat in the treatment area to sculpt and add volume where desired.
What is Recovery Like After Fat Transfer?
The area where the fat is extracted my feel tender for a few days. Dr. Ayala provides aftercare instructions that detail limitations to your activities and how to care for the donor and implant areas until you heal. Other potential complications that could arise include:
- Bruising or swelling
How Much Does Fat Transfer Cost?
